Seoul’s Billys & Co debuts work footwear
South Korean leather footwear brand Billys & Co, founded last year and based in Seoul, recently entered the domestic work shoes market.
Having designed the shoes with “military-oriented” consumers in mind, the company told local media that the main emphasis had been to fashion footwear with a comfortable fit, which it said was sometimes lacking with other brands operating within the category.
A spokesperson for the brand said: “I am absolutely confident in our comfortable fit. Typically, workwear shoes require a period of adjustment, meaning that the first time you wear them your feet can hurt a lot. Billys & Co paid special attention to the fit, so they can be worn comfortably from the beginning.”
The company described the leather and other materials used in the handmade collection as premium, with 100% of production taking place at a factory owned by the parents of co-chief executive Hong Seong-jin.
