Apex Footwear signs 20 year tannery lease

The shoemaker claims it is responsible for approximately 15% of leather footwear exports from Bangladesh, exporting to Europe, North America and Japan.
Group sales were hit during the pandemic, but profits rose almost 70% during the 2021 financial year.
"We emphasised cost control instead of sales during the pandemic. However, the sales posted 0.48% growth," Syed Nasim Manzur, managing director of Apex Footwear, told The Business Standard.
In April, the company bought land worth around £1 million in the Sirajganj Economic Zone for expansion and product diversification.
