The Fluff Sugar Platform and Fluff Sugar Sandal (pictured) include a foam outsole made partly from sugarcane and the ‘fluff’ made with Tencel.
Neumel Natural, a range of chukka boots, use Tencel in the lining and a sole made of natural rubber and a cotton and hemp blend upper.
Lenzing said: “There is immense potential for Tencel lyocell fibres in this category, not only for its sustainability and versatility, but also for its high comfort. The fibre naturally contributes to breathability, thermal regulation, and reduction of bacteria growth – all very important criteria to reduce odour and create an improved microclimate in footwear.”
Andrea O’Donnell, president of Ugg, said: “Our design team took inspiration from our iconic styles and created new silhouettes made from carbon-neutral, plant-based materials. The resulting Plant Power Collection tells a story about what is possible, and it is an exciting step in on our journey towards a more sustainable future.”
