Bottega Veneta bounces back in Q3
Luxury group Kering has announced sales revenues of just under €3.9 billion for the third quarter of 2019, growth of 14.2% compared to the same quarter last year.

Its biggest brand, Gucci, delivered what Kering called “solid revenue growth”, bringing in almost €2.4 billion over the three-month period, more than 60% of the group’s total and an increase of 13.3% year on year.

Revenues at Yves Saint Laurent were €506.5 million, which also represents growth of 13.3% year on year, which the group described as “further sustained growth” for the brand.

Bottega Veneta’s revenues for the quarter were €284.3 million, up by 9.8% compared to the same quarter in 2018, a result that appeared to please the group immensely, coming as it does after a period of declining figures for the Italian leathergoods brand.

It said Bottega Veneta’s growth was “highly encouraging” and that the first collections put together by Daniel Lee, who arrived as creative director in 2018, had been “extremely well received by established and new customers alike”.

Commenting on the results, chief executive, François-Henri Pinault, said: “All our segments contributed to our solid top-line gain. We live in an increasingly complex world, but we are fully confident in our capacity to deliver sustained performances over time.”
