Growth for South African footwear and accessory exports

South Africa’s revenue service has said the value of the country’s exports of hides, skins and leather in the first half of 2019 was around $115 million at current exchange rates.

This compares to $137 million in the same months last year, a decline of 16%.

Exports of footwear and accessories had a value of around $435 million in the first six months of 2019. This compares to a figure of $398 million for the same period in 2018, which means growth of 9.3% year on year.
