Vietnam’s footwear exports grew by more than 10% in 2018

                    At a meeting in Hanoi at the end of December, the organisation said the country earned a total of $17.68 billion from exports of these products in the first 11 months of 2018, an increase of 8.4% compared to the same period of 2017.
Footwear exports were worth $14.61 billion, up 10.9% year on year, while suitcase and bag exports were valued at $3.07 billion, 3% higher.
Vietnam shipped shoes to more than 100 countries in 2018. With the five biggest markets being the US, the European Union, China, Japan and South Korea. These markets make up more than 82% of total footwear exports.
Footwear shipments to the US were up 10%, while shipments to China, South Korea and Japan all jumped by more than 20%. Lefaso said this was mainly down to free-trade agreements (FTAs) with these countries.
