Tod’s is not for sale: Diego Della Valle

The chairman and owner of high-end footwear group Tod’s, Diego Della Valle, has refuted reports that his family is exploring the possibility of selling the company. The Della Valle family owns just over 60% of Tod’s.

A report in an Italian newspaper last week suggested that Mr Della Valle had begun a reorganisation of the family’s holding companies, which would pave the way for the sale of the group.

Speaking at a fashion summit in Milan, he responded to the reports, describing them as “recurring rumours”. He added that the Della Valle family is more interested in buying than selling.

“We are preparing the company for the next 10 years, when we will surely be attentive to new consumers, but carefully avoiding going overboard in chasing trends. We must not lose sight of who we are,” he was quoted as saying.
