Pakistan leather footwear export revenues up by 11%

26/09/2018
Pakistan’s leather sector, including leather footwear, achieved export revenues of just under $150 million in the first two months of the current financial year, July and August 2018. This constitutes a decline compared to the same months last year of 7.6%.

Taking the footwear component on its own, exports of leather shoes increased in value by 11% over the two-month period.

A dip in export revenues for finished leather was the most obvious reason for the overall decline, falling by 21.4% year on year. Finished leather products achieved export revenues for the two months that were down by 3.8%.
