Assocal plans for 2019 Moda Made in Italy events

The first edition of 2019 will take place from March 24-26, with the second moving back slightly in the calendar to October 6-8.
“The October 2019 edition of Moda Made in Italy is even more strategically positioned in the German trade fair calendar,” said Assocalzaturifici vice-chair Giovanna Ceolini. “The event effectively closes the season, and we thought it would be best to hold it farther away from Micam in Milan, after Oktoberfest, an event which is viewed as a disturbance by members of the trade”.
She added: “To prevent overlapping at a time that is already complicated we have decided to reposition our event at a more practical time in line with commitments in the trade calendar and the timing of the retail business, to make things easier for buyers who come to Germany with the intention of finalising their orders for the current season”.
According to figures from Assocalzaturifici, Italy exported around 34 million pairs of shoes to Germany in 2017 for a value of more than one billion euros. The average price per pair exported to Germany was just under €30. This made it Italy’s third most important market by value, after France and Switzerland.
