Organisers pleased by response to UITIC Congress call for papers

The organisers of the twentieth UITIC Congress, which will take place in Porto from May 16-18, have received 95 abstracts from prospective speakers at the event.

People from 19 different countries responded to the call for papers for the UITIC Congress, an increase compared to the 13 countries represented by the respondents last time around, for the congress in Chennai in 2016.

A scientific committee will now assess all 95 submissions and choose from them the 25 or 30 proposals that will make it onto the formal agenda for the event.

UITIC general secretary and coordinator of the scientific committee, Françoise Nicolas, said: “It will be a great opportunity to meet relevant experts from the main footwear manufacturing areas, to have detailed information on the state of the innovations available and to get familiar with the main technological orientations for the footwear sector.”
