Finished product manufacturers encouraged to set up at new Indian cluster

A project to set up a manufacturing cluster for footwear and leathergoods is under way at Sohna in Haryana state in India.

The authorities there have set up a development corporation to set the cluster up and has given manufacturers until December 18 to apply for a plot at the site. The cluster is not open to tanners, but the development corporation is encouraging manufacturers of shoes, accessories, leather garments and saddlery products to set up production facilities there.
