Flat first half for Geox

01/08/2017
Footwear group Geox has announced sales revenues of just over €450 million for the first six months of 2017, which is flat compared to the same period in 2016. Its sales revenues for footwear, which account for 90% of the total, were down very slightly at €408.2 million, but a 6.7% increase in its revenues from apparel sales compensated.

Founder and chairman, Dr Mario Moretti Polegato, said on announcing the results that Geox’s performance in Russia, the rest of eastern Europe and China had been strong and said sales figures for its e-commerce channel had been “excellent” in the six-month period.

Sales in the company’s home market, Italy, fell by 4.6% to €137 million, which means Italy accounted for just over 30% of total revenue.
