Slight dip for UK shoe production

07/06/2017
The UK produced 5.7 million pairs of shoes in 2016, a 5% drop compared with the year before, according to figures published by the British Footwear Association.

The value of the shoes has been estimated at £360 million.

Around 47% of these shoes were exported, a similar figure to 2015.

Despite the dip, the UK footwear industry had increased its output by more than 30% between 2010 and 2015.
