The event, which is organised by Italian footwear manufacturers’ association Assocalzaturifici, runs from March 19 to 21 at the city’s MOC exhibition centre.
Germany is the second most important export market for Italian footwear, behind France. In the first ten months of 2016, exports to the country increased 2.9% in value and 0.8% in volume. Germany currently exports more than 30 million pairs of shoes from Germany every year.
As well as Germany, Moda Made in Italy also aims to attract buyers from Austria, Switzerland and Northern Europe.
“Moda Made in Italy is held at a strategic time on the German trade fair calendar to offers buyers assistance in the purchasing process," explained Giovanna Ceolini, vice chair of Assocalzaturifici. “After February's international events, MICAM and Fashion Week in Milan, the German event offers an opportunity to finalise the season's orders."
