Footwear off to a flying start for new fiscal year in Bangladesh

During first two months of this financial year, July and August, Bangladesh exported leather footwear with a value of more than $120 million, an increase year on year of 19%.

Across the whole of the leather value chain, Bangladesh brought in export revenues of over $1.1 billion during the 2015-2016 financial year. The government has set a target of raising this to more than $1.2 billion in 2016-2017.
