UK footwear company Dr Martens has unveiled the DM’s Lite, a new version of its boots that feature a lightweight sole. It represents the first significant update to the construction of the company’s products since it was founded in 1947.

While maintaining the classic appearance and style of a Dr Martens product, shoes from the new range weigh a third of the original, and feature soft leather uppers in black or cherry red. They also have a memory foam insole and a moisture wicking coating on the outside.

The line includes three of the brand’s most popular models: the Newton 8-Eye Boot, Cavendish 3-Eye Shoe and Edison Tassel Loafer.
