Bally artisans enjoy exotic leather challenge
The training manager in the footwear production department of high-end Swiss shoe brand Bally, Renzo Parisi, has said that while suede and nappa leathers are easy to work with, allowing craftspeople to “reach the desired result” more quickly, he likes working with more demanding materials.

In recent comments on Bally’s website, Mr Parisi said: “There is huge satisfaction to be had from taking on materials that are more difficult to work with, such as exotic leathers. It is a joy for us to apply our craftsmanship and skills to that challenge.”

Before joining Bally last year, Renzo Parisi ran his own artisan shoe company in Sicily. He mentioned that most of the artisans who work in the Bally factory in Caslano in the Ticino canton of Switzerland come from across the border in Italy.
