Spain’s main footwear industry body FICE has reached agreement with two trade unions over the pay and conditions industry workers will have between now and 2018.

Footwear manufacturers in all parts of the country will offer workers a 1% increase in salary in 2016, of a further 1.2% in 2017 and of 1.3% in 2018.

In addition, footwear workers will work four hours fewer per week in 2017 and will have their working week reduced by a further four hours in 2018. At the moment, workers in Spanish footwear factories are active for 1,800 hours per year.
