Madrid turns full circle with new Momad Shoes event
Spanish fashion event group Momad is to reorganise its offerings in 2016 with a completely separate footwear event, Momad Shoes, running on different dates from the event that sought to bring footwear under the same roof as accessories and clothing for men, women and children, Momad Metrópolis.

Event organiser Ifema ran Modacalzado as a dedicated footwear event twice a year in Madrid until 2013. Early attempts to present it as one component of Momad Metrópolis left many footwear companies, long-term exhibitors at Modacalzado, feeling dissatisfied. In September 2015, footwear exhibitors were guaranteed a separate hall at Momad Metrópolis, which appeared to improve shoe companies’ experience of the larger event.

Now Ifema has taken things full circle and will run Momad Shoes in Madrid from March 5-7, 2016, while Momad Metrópolis will run a month earlier, February 5-7.

Ifema is organising a road-show to present the new format to footwear manufacturers in a number of important Spanish shoe clusters, including those in Elda-Petrer, La Rioja, Menorca and Almansa.
