Volume falls but value rises for Pakistan’s shoe exporters
02/07/2015
Pakistan’s fiscal year runs from July to June, so the 2014-2015 fiscal year has just ended. Figures for the first 11 months show substantial decreases in exports of finished leather and of finished leather products, including shoes.
However, unlike other categories, leathers shoes show a big increase in export values.
Leather footwear manufacturers exported 12.7 million pairs with a combined value of $120.3 million over the period. This indicates a fall in volume of 10.9% compared to the same months in the previous financial year, but an increase in value of 11.9%.
