CEC president calls for reshoring

She told all participants: “You are a strategic sector and represent what Europe does best: quality and creativity with high value. Many small companies are leaders in their niche markets in Europe and globally.”
Speaking at the event, president of footwear industry body CEC, Cleto Sagripanti, said he believes it is essential for the Commission and for national governments in the European Union to support the reshoring of footwear manufacturing to Europe. “We need to bring back production,” Mr Sagripanti said. “Our European products are appreciated worldwide as export statistics show.”
