“The event is aimed particularly at industry professionals from central and southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland,” Assocal said. “It is a key event for completing and adding to orders from buyers who, in previous years, have shown a growing interest in the excellence of Italian-made footwear.”
In the first ten months of 2014, there was an increase in exports to Germany, in terms of both volume (+2%) and value (+7.8%). Assocal said these were “positive signs of a kind unseen for many seasons”.
Between January and October 2014, 28.5 million pairs of shoes were exported from Italy to Germany, for a total of more than €800 million. In addition, the average price per pair of exported footwear increased by 5.7%, reaching more than €28.
