Self-lacing shoe and flashing ski boot among ISPO winners
Organisers of the ISPO trade show have announced the winners for 2015/2016 from 445 entries.
The six best products from the action, outdoor, ski, performance and Asian segments are named ‘Product of the Year’, with runners-up taking gold awards.
The outdoor product of the year is La Sportiva’s G2 SM, a two-layer boot for extreme mountaineering. It features a honeycomb tech midsole and uses Cordura for strength.
Asian product of the year is Treksta’s Hands Free 103 GTX, a foot-activated ZeroTie lacing system. Featuring IceLock, a rubber sole with electrostatically charged micro-glass particles, the shoe is also suitable for icy and slippery conditions.
Sealskinz has been given a gold award for its neoprene halo overshoe. It uses a 4 Lumen hi-powered LED light built into the rear which emits a bright light visible from over 500m, ensuring users are seen when out and about in low light.
Other brands taking gold awards for footwear this year include Millet, Treksta and Saloman.
