Indian shoe retailer announces breakthrough deal with Church’s

14/01/2015
High-end footwear brand Church’s has reached an agreement with Indian retailer Heel & Buckle through which Church’s shoes will go on sale in India for the first time.

Heel & Buckle currently has three multi-brand stores, in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon, but plans to open at least 10 new stores in the course of 2015 and perhaps as many as 120 shop-in-shop outlets in the next three years.

On announcing the deal, Dhiraj Bathija, the retail group’s managing director, described Church’s (owned by Prada since 2009) as “the UK’s iconic luxury footwear brand”.

Church’s has confirmed that it is supplying Heel & Buckle, but has said that no exclusive agreement has been formalised between the two organisations.
