Timberland develops safety outsole for work boots

The Powertrain series includes five styles for men and three for women and are designed to transition from work to home. The Anti-Fatigue Technology absorbs shock and increases energy, says the company, and is combined with alloy safety toes and slip-resistant outsoles.
"We recognise there is a very diverse group of industrial professionals that require protective footwear on the job and a traditional work boot is not always the solution," said Bert Spiller, director of product for Timberland PRO.
"For those working indoors, specifically within warehouses, assembly lines, and factories, a lightweight, lower-profile shoe makes sense. The key benefit of our new series is a new proprietary outsole with built-in Timberland PRO Anti-Fatigue Technology. The outsole can serve as an alternative to costly anti-fatigue mats, which sometimes result in trip-and-fall accidents on the job."
The eight styles feature premium microfiber leather and rugged athletic breathable mesh and are offered in a variety of colours. Each has an alloy safety toe, a fiberglass shank for structural support, cement construction for flexibility and reduced break-in time, and anti-microbial treatment for odour control and comfortable feet.
