Bryan Oknyansky in line for 3D printing award
London-based footwear designer Bryan Oknyansky has been named a finalist in a 3D printing competition for his 3D printed footwear collection, Shoes By Bryan.

“It's great that reinventing footwear as we know it resonates with so many people,” he said.

Mr Oknyansky trained as an architect and used his knowledge of shape and form to launch the brand in 2012.

He was nominated by Julija Frodina, who is studying for her MA in footwear design at the Vilnius Academy of Art in Lithuania. She said: “He believes part of his job as a designer using 3D printing is to educate the public as much as possible to help create a market of believers, consumers and makers.”

The 3D Print Show Global Awards, taking place in London's Old Billingsgate from September 4-6, recognises those involved in the 3D printing arena.

The public can vote online until September 3.
