Huidong produces 460 million pairs of shoes

Footwear manufacturers in the Chinese county of Huidong produced 460 million pairs of shoes in the first half of the year, according to information published by the China Leather Industry Association.
The Huidong Footwear and Leather Association met recently to discuss ways to boost exports from the Guangdong province, in the country’s south east.
The value of exports from Huidong’s almost 7,000 footwear companies reached RMB 13.5 billion ($2.2 billion) in the six-month period.
