Peter Kaiser appoints new head of design

After studying design in Bremen, Ms Cacopardo moved to Milan to begin her leather-sector career, creating accessories and shoes for Austrian brand Carol Christian Poell.
Following several years in Montegranaro, in Fermo, which she refers to as “the heart of Italy and the centre of the Italian shoemaking”, Ms Cacopardo decided to dedicate herself to footwear full time.
As well as working on collections at factory sites with artisan manufacturers, experience she built up during her time in Fermo included technical meetings for high brands such as Prada. “I gained great knowledge of last developments, fitting, leather and production guidelines,” she has said.
Upon returning to MIlan, she worked on men’s shoes for Bally and then became heda of design for Dolce & Gabbana, where she was responsible for the main shoe and accessories collection.
