Diane Sullivan takes over as chairman at Brown Shoe

The CEO and president of Brown Shoe Company has been afforded additional responsibilities as she takes over as chairman of the US company.

Diane Sullivan became CEO and president in May 2011 and has focused on “portfolio realignment efforts” at the infrastructure, retail and brand levels. 

She joined Brown Shoe Company in 2004 as president and assumed the additional role of chief operating officer in 2006. 

Prior to joining the $2.6 billion footwear group, she worked at The Stride Rite Corporation, where she served as president and chief operating, and was vice-chairman of footwear at Phillips-Van Heusen. 

Brown Shoe Company will celebrate its 100th anniversary on the New York Stock Exchange in April 2014.
