Brazilian footwear fair applies synergies to fashion

Brazilian footwear and leathergoods fair Courmoda, which closed its doors in Sao Paulo last week, attracted 1,100 exhibitors and opened the business season for the Brazilian shoes, bags and sporting goods industries.

The 40th edition was combined with the Sao Paulo Pret-a-Porter show, to create what organisers describe as the country's “biggest business week ever”, attracting 104,000 visitors.

Francisco Dos Santos, president of the Couromoda Group, which organised both fairs, said: “Couromoda is recognised internationally as a dynamic, innovative fair that generates actual business results, boosting up the development of the footwear chain.

“We are applying this very same formula to the garment sector, as we firmly believe that the clothing and accessories industries need a prominent professional event in São Paulo, to enhance businesses and networking with the retail market."
