New automated logistics centre for Lloyd Shoes
Germany-based Lloyd Shoes has opened a new automated logistics centre in Sulingen.
The high-end footwear brand has entrusted the fit-out of its new logistics centre to automated warehouse solution provider TGW.
At the centre of the new facility there will be an automated, 15-metre-high mini-load warehouse with five aisles and a storage capacity of 50,000 cartons.
"The combination of quality, technical maturity and planned reserve capacities at all parts of the installation combined with intelligent controls, convinced us that TGW's equipment would fit ideally with our own WMS software," says head of logistics at Lloyd, Manfred Buschmeier.
"The IT includes an efficient and demand-oriented switch-off mechanism. By permanently evaluating current orders and resulting workloads for workstations, picking stations and implemented technologies, the system optimises overall efficiency as well as personnel placement."
