Brazilian delegation visits Korea

The mayor of Novo Hamburgo, Tarcísio Zimmermann, has led a delegation from the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul to the Korean Institute of Footwear Fashion and Technology in Busan. Novo Hamburgo, host city of the Fimec exhibition, is one of Brazil's main centres of leather and footwear production.

Mr Zimmermann's main aim was to establish ties between the institute and the industry in his part of Brazil. He said after the visit on June 2 that representatives of the institution in Busan wanted to visit Brazil to see at first hand some of the footwear manufacturing facilities in and around Novo Hamburgo and to build a partnership with research teams at the city's Feevale University.
