Boost for tanning machinery project at Fimec

A project to encourage exports of machinery and equipment for leather and footwear, developed by Abrameq (the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment for the Leather, Footwear and Allied Trades) in partnership with Apex-Brazil (the Brazilian Trade and Investments Promotion Agency), will take several steps forward at Fimec 2011.

The annual leather machinery and chemicals exhibition takes place in Novo Hamburgo from April12–15. Abrameq will use the occasion to boost the machinery project, called Máquinas By Brasil (Machines By Brazil).

Around 50 Abrameq member companies, from a total of 60, will exhibit at Fimec 2011, allowing specially invited guests on a specific buyers’ programme, organised as part of the project, to meet manufacturers of tanning machinery and see their technology up close. There will be 13 guests on the buyers’ programme, representing four countries that Abrameq has target as part of the project: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and India.

Also as part of Máquinas By Brasil, the association will launch a new website at Fimec. The new site, www.maquinasbybrasil.com.br, will offer what Abrameq called a channel of communication with importers, opinion formers and other members of the leather and footwear value chain.
