The scheme was devised in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), whose ‘Step Up to Health’ initiative is designed to use park and recreation facilities to promote healthy lifestyles.

The programme will launch in New Orleans with a free pair of shoes for every middle and high school student in the city, equating to more than 13,000 pairs of athletic shoes. Athletes, including New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister, will attend the event.
