Gottschalks posts improved Q2 results

American apparel and footwear retailer Gottschalks Inc. reported net income of $486,000 for the second quarter compared with net income of $259,000 for the second quarter of 2005.

Total sales increased 1.2% to $153.4 million compared with $151.6 million for the second quarter last year.
