Athletic footwear contributes to higher sales at Genesco

Nashville-based footwear, headwear and accessories company Genesco Inc. has reported earnings of $5.9 million for the second quarter ended July 29 compared with $6.8 million for the second quarter ended July 30, 2005.

Net sales increased 11% to $304 million compared with $275 million for the same period in 2005.
