The Italian footwear sector achieved export revenues of €3 billion in the first quarter of 2026, a fall of 1.6% compared to the same period last year.

On releasing the figures, industry association, Assocalzaturifici, said there had been “a complex backdrop” to the performance of the Italian footwear sector during the quarter.
