The Ministry of Industry in Ethiopia has emphasised the need for a leather development strategy as part of a wider manufacturing initiative called ‘Let Ethiopia Produce’.

During a recent workshop, industry minister, Melaku Alebel, highlighted that a communication gap has been hindering the initiative’s effectiveness. To address the challenges faced by the leather sector, government officials, stakeholders, and manufacturers must work together, from local chiefs to federal  officials.
