Big-name takes the design reins at Under Armour

Athletic brand Under Armour has announced fashion industry veteran John Varvatos as its new chief design officer.
The designer, who became famous for his work in the 1990s with Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, began working with Under Armour as a consultant earlier this year. He will now lead “the creative design direction” of the company, overseeing the work of the design studios Under Armour runs in New York, Baltimore and Portland.
