As the first of a two-part process, the ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) Foundation has released the ZDHC CMS (Chemical Management System).

The group has said that a CMS is critical to worker safety and reduces environmental impact in the community and the wider environment. The framework, which can be downloaded here, provides the textile, apparel, and footwear industries with a shared base from which to work. ZDHC said it can be incorporated in a wider management system, such as an Environmental Management System (EMS).
