Italy’s footwear industry sees companies close and jobs go

Italy’s footwear manufacturing industry witnessed the closure of almost 200 companies in the first half of 2019 and lost almost 1,000 jobs, according to figures released by main industry body, Assocalzaturifici. In a statement, Assocal said 119 footwear manufacturing firms had closed down between January and June 2019, with a loss of 492 jobs....
