Peru’s footwear exports in the first four months of 2017 registered an increase in value of 28%, reaching more than $8 million. Official government statistics show that the total for 2016 was $22.6 million, although this total was low compared to recent annual figures. Total shoe production in Peru is around 50 million pairs per year.
