Kenya: Minister petitions for more domestic footwear manufacture

Kenya’s minister for industrialisation has petitioned for the country’s military boots to be made domestically in a bid to boost the country’s leather sector.

Adan Mohamed said his ministry will analyse the specifications from the Kenya Defence Forces and the National Police Service and give them to local manufacturers, adding that the country was missing out on valuable income.
