US sportswear group Nike has described its latest football boot launch, Mercurial Superfly, as a “leap forward for on-pitch speed”.

Unveiled by Cristiano Ronaldo in Madrid, the foot has been under development for four years and uses a new three-knit weave which puts less material between the foot and the ball to enhance players’ touch.
