Timberland uses P2i technology
Outdoor footwear and apparel company Timberland is to use P2i’s ion-mask liquid repellent nano-coating in some its new shoe models. It will feature in 17 models for men and women including canvas and leather boots and shoes.
The technology applies a nanoscopic protective polymer layer to the whole shoe, on which water forms beads and rolls off rather than being absorbed. It stops external water getting in and encourages evaporated perspiration to flow out. This means that the shoes dry out more quickly and don’t become heavier in wet conditions.
