Payless ShoeSource has picked the Philippines for its next phase of expansion. The company has signed a new franchise agreement with the country’s Stores Specialists Inc (SSI). The first stores are expected to open by mid-2010.

SSI has a strong background in developing international brands in the Philippines, and runs 340 retail stores within the country. Approximately five Payless stores will open in the Philippines beginning mid next year, and more stores are scheduled to open in future years.
