TSRC is collaborating with King Steel in SCF development—a SBC solution with lower carbon emissions for shoes
TSRC, a global leader in styrenic block copolymer (SBC) production, is collaborating with King Steel, a leading manufacturer of foam elastomer and industrial elastomer injection forming equipment, in the development of supercritical fluid foaming (SCF) injection solutions. This has resulted in the successful creation of an SBC solution that features significantly lower carbon emissions.
The Advantages of TSRC’s SCF
TSRC’s advantages in SCF production means that this SBC solution will represent a sustainable solution for footwear. SCF possesses several key benefits, which are referred to as 3R+3N:
- Recyclable
- Reusable
- Reduced carbon emissions
- Non-crosslink
- Non-chemical residue
- Non-VOC emission
Furthermore, TSRC’s SCF products are created based on Design for Recycling (DFR) principles. To this end, they are manufactured glue-free, and the mid/outer soles are made with the same material base.
