High demand for expertise

In a year when less consumer demand caused production across the world to fall, leather industry technical services provider SATRA has reported increased interest in its research, testing and analysis offering from manufacturers in the leather and footwear industry.

In 2008, the organisation attracted its highest ever level of membership subscription income. Alan Drage, head of sales, marketing and member services said this success would enable SATRA to continue to invest in facilities and services for the benefit of its members.

He explained that the organisation was founded on the basis that by pooling resources, manufacturers would have access to more facilities and expertise than most individual companies could either afford or justify on their own.
