Michelle Obama chooses Jimmy Choo

The new First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, choose shoes from Jimmy Choo for the Inauguration of her husband as president.
Mrs Obama chose the Glacier model from the designer's autumn-winter 2008-2009 collection, in emerald green to match a yellow outfit.
Commentators remarked that, if the choice of designer was a relatively conservative one for a woman who often opts for younger, less well known names, the choice of the shoe itself did show confidence and individuality. The Glacier, they said, is more of an evening shoe, with an 8.5-centimetre heel, making it an interesting choice for the midday ceremony.
Mrs Obama is a devotee of the Ikram boutique in her home city of Chicago, which stocks a wide range of brands.
