Modacalzado to increase invitations to buyers

The Modacalzado and Iberpiel footwear and leathergoods events, colocated at the international exhibition centre in Madrid, is making more budget available to invite a larger number of international buyers present at the next two editions, in March and September 2009.
The increased budget will come from cut-backs the organisers are making on inviting industry journalists from outside Spain to attend.
The next edition of the events, co-owned and co-organised by the Spanish Footwear Industry Federation (FICE), will take place on March 17–19.
FICE’s partner, specialist event organiser Ifema, explained that the Spanish economy was currently experiencing particular difficulty because of the globall economic downturn. It said the change in policy had come about at the request of exhibiting companies.
